How NAD+ Increases Brain Function

Cognitive decline is a hallmark of aging. As we age, a number of degenerative processes in our body produce ailments such as: brain fog, depression, STRESS, anxiety, exhaustion, and many others. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleuotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme in our body that actually keeps these symptoms from occurring by powering and restoring brain function. It enables the energy from foods that we eat to transfer to our brain cells. NAD+ increases brain function by powering important cells that keep our brain aging well. This process gets interrupted when our lifestyle, diet, use of alcohol/drugs, stress, toxins, and other environmental triggers decrease the body’s natural production of NAD+. When this important coenzyme declines in the body, supplementation can help to restore this important energy transfer.

What is NAD+?

NAD+ stands for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, and is a coenzyme of Vitamin B3 (niacin) found in every cell of your body. A coenzyme is a small molecule that binds to a protein molecule in order to help and activate an enzyme. Enzymes are responsible for over 5,000 different biochemical reactions throughout the body and NAD+participates in more reactions than any other vitamin-derived molecule.

Here is a list of just some of the functions that NAD+ powers in our bodies:

  • DNA repair
  • Digestion
  • Cognition
  • Slowing the aging process
  • Increasing overall energy levels
  • Boosting metabolic processes

It increases your serotonin levels, aiding with mood regulation. It reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms (which makes it helpful for those in addiction recovery). And, NAD+ increases brain function and regeneration, helping with memory, brain fog, and more.

How NAD+ Increases Brain Function and Brain Aging:

Cognitive decline is a hallmark of aging. Age-related neurological conditions, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and more are at the forefront of medical research today. Numerous studies have suggested that NAD+ “mediatesmultiple major biological processes, including calcium homeostasis, energy metabolism, mitochondrial functions, cell death and aging.” (1) In fact, NAD+ does all of the following:

  • FUELS ENERGY PRODUCTION
  • Repairs DNA
  • Powers Enzyme Activty
  • Cell Signaling
  • Neurotransmitter
  • Gene Expression

NAD+ and Anti-Aging

Along with Phoshpatidylcholine and amino acid therapy, NAD+ plays a very important role in anti-aging. As a person ages, the telomeres, which are protective caps at the ends of chromosomes naturally get shorter and “fray” like the end of a shoelace. NAD helps lengthen these telomeres and reduces that “fraying” process. Naturally occurring NAD in the body declines with age, and NAD+ IV treatments release this powerful coenzyme directly into the bloodstream making it immediately available for cells to combat the natural, gradual decline.

NAD+ Can:

  • Repair DNA damage from Mold toxicity, Lyme and other chronic infections
  • Boost energy levels
  • Improve depression
  • Restore muscle function
  • Improve athletic performance
  • Improve mental clarity
  • Improve brain health / Improve memory function Increase neurological function
  • Improve brain regeneration
  • Prevent damage to DNA
  • Reverse and slow aging process
  • Reduce overall fatigue
  • Restore healthy skin & reduce wrinkles
  • Mood enhancement
  • Improved metabolism & weight loss
  • Cell restoration

What is NAD+ IV Therapy?

NAD+ IV Therapy administers a high dose intravenous infusion of NAD+. Bypassing the digestive system for better absorption, IV therapy is the most effective way to supplement NAD+. It works to repair neurons in the brain and cells throughout the body. At Tringali Vibrant Health, Elizabeth Tringali, PA-C customizes NAD+ protocols according to each patient, ensuring effectivity and safety.
