What is Firefly Light Therapy?

Firefly Light Therapy™  is the latest in multi-spectrum LED light therapy for pain, neurological disorders, and pathogen issues. Firefly uses a powerful wave of light to penetrate the skin, tissue, and surrounding nerves to treat soft tissue injuries, reduce pain, promote wound healing, and provide therapy for chronic conditions such as arthritis and failed back syndrome.

Exciting data from current clinical studies indicate that Bales Photonics Firefly Light Therapy may be able to reverse the symptoms of central nervous system disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Extensive research also documents pain relief from all types of inflammatory diseases and injuries with the use of this multi-spectrum technology.

Firefly combined with an Fscan can pinpoint and potentially destroy parasites in people suffering from a variety of auto-immune disorders and gut issues. Ample evidence exists linking cognitive decline to gut issues making it a great place to start for treatment.

How does it work?

At its core, Firefly operates on the principle of photobiomodulation—the use of specific light wavelengths to interact with cells and stimulate biological responses. When photons are absorbed by tissues:

  • They support increased ATP production—the energy currency of cells—boosting overall cellular metabolism.
  • Blood and lymphatic vessels dilate, improving circulation and nutrient delivery to tissues.
  • Inflammatory cycles are disrupted, which may help with pain relief and accelerated healing.

This combination of deeper penetration, high power output, and multiple wavelengths positions Firefly well beyond traditional red light devices—making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from musculoskeletal issues and soft-tissue injuries to neurological concerns and chronic conditions.

Firefly Light Therapy Reported Benefits

Firefly Light Therapy is designed to be non-invasive, painless, and safe , offering a comfortable option for many patients who want alternatives to drugs and surgery. Typical benefits include:

  • Pain relief and reduced inflammation

  • Accelerated tissue repair and wound healing

  • Improved circulation and oxygen delivery

  • Support for nervous system and immune activation

  • Enhanced recovery in chronic or stubborn conditions

Firefly Light Therapy has also helped:

  • Auto-Immune Disorders
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Arthritis
  • Back Pain
  • Bell’s Palsy
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Diabetes Complications
  • Fungal Infections
  • Gut Issues/Parasites
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Severe Menstrual Cramps
  • Neuropathies
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Plantar Fascitis
  • Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke
  • Wound Healing

What is the F-Scan?

The F-Scan is a non-invasive biofeedback and frequency response scan that helps guide your Firefly treatment plan. It:

  • Assesses patterns of biological stress
  • Helps prioritize treatment areas
  • Tracks how your nervous system and tissues are responding
  • Supports safe adjustment of treatment protocols

Important:

  • The F-Scan does not diagnose disease and does not replace lab testing, imaging, or medical evaluation. It is a clinical guidance tool that helps personalize your Firefly care.

Firefly Light Therapy and Gut Healing

Your gut is one of the most energy-dependent systems in your body. Firefly Light Therapy supports gut health by using targeted light energy to stimulate cellular function, improve circulation, and support tissue repair in the abdominal region.

By enhancing mitochondrial activity and blood flow, Firefly helps create an environment where inflammation can calm and healing processes can function more efficiently.

Firefly is often used alongside gut protocols to help optimize results and support deeper, more effective healing.

Before and After Firefly Light Therapy

Firefly Light Therapy results can be compared using infrared imaging or thermography, which reveals increased blood circulation. A baseline infrared image is taken before Firefly Light Therapy and used to determine the proper protocol. This image is then stored on the computer system. After an initial course of 4-6 sessions, the scan is repeated. Changes in blood circulation are noted and used to assess treatment efficacy and determine prognosis.

Below are some examples of pre- and post-session infrared scans. Orange-to-red warmer colors in the pretreatment images indicate inflammation and pain. Patients experiencing numbness and poor circulation before Firefly therapy show warmer colors after treatment, indicating increased blood circulation.

BEFORE

You can see in this image the cool colors indicating poor circulation in a neuropathy patient.

 AFTER

The warm colors show significant improvement in blood circulation, which came with ease of symptoms.

BEFORE

Alternatively, the warm areas indicate a severe wrist injury in this pre-treatment thermal image.

AFTER

And, a significant reduction in Pain and inflammation after treatment.

Firefly Light Therapy FAQs:

How many treatments do I need?

This varies based on many factors, including chronicity of disease, strength of immune system, frequency of treatments, and much more. A series of 4 treatments is usually administered to evaluate effectiveness and determine the appropriate number of additional sessions.

Rarely. Usually, only relief is felt but occasionally patients may experience mild temporary dizziness, or a temporary increase in pain in the day or days following Firefly Light therapy. In rare cases mild bruising may occur from increased blood circulation and patients using medication that increase sensitivity to light may have skin reactions.

Yes. Because the treatment is so comfortable, children and seniors usually welcome its beneficial effects. It is also safe to apply Firefly therapy over many types of implanted medical devices.

Firefly light therapy is not applied over cancer, infection, or on a pregnant woman. Firefly light therapy is not used on the eyes and safety glasses are always worn during treatment for protection.

Firefly therapy does not emit any x-ray or other ionizing radiation. It only emits diffused light greatly reducing the risk of burn.

Unlike other modalities, no sticky pads or cold gels are required. Most patients feel no particular sensation other than a slight warmth caused from increased blood circulation to the treatment area.

Yes. Firefly therapy works well alone or with other integrative approaches.
